Plants with Purpose

From a small backgarden nursery in 2001 Plants with Purpose now has a stocklist of over 250 useful, culinary, medicinal, wildlife and edible plants all homegrown using organic principles. You’ll find many unusual varieties, such as Emperor Hadrian’s Mint or Rock Samphire, and many whose names alone are magical – like Mad Dog Scullcap and Good King Henry!

We also run lots of workshops and
courses throughout Scotland and the UK, including sustainable gardening, wildfood foraging, 'grow your own', beekeeping and many more.

Please note that our mail order season has now CLOSED. We will be sending plants again from March 2012.

Appletreeman

Appletreeman is an orchard-enthusiast, who supplies an ever-widening range of fruit trees, nut bushes and fruiting shrubs. We have many home-grown historical and traditional Scottish varieties in the catalogue - all grown without chemicals using organic principles. Our trees can be bought bare-root in the Winter or as potted maiden trees throughout the year.

Appletreeman passes on his
orchard expertise by running practical classes in things like planting, pruning, budding, and fruit identification. He also provides a consultancy and advice  service to new or existing orchard owners or community groups.
